Mulligan’s Family Water Park - Murrieta
We all know how hot it gets here in the summertime. I have developed a How-To Stay Cool Guide, based on my experience as a mom of a 4 year old, living in Murrieta. All you have to do is click on the tag and it’ll bring you to an archive of all the different water parks, public pools, splash pads that I’ve been to. It’s a short list so far but I’ll be adding to it, so please check back the next time you need to cool off!
Mulligan's has a lot for kids and families to do, like their little train and go- carts, and miniature golf and batting cages. But their water park is undoubtedly one of their main attractions. We got there a little late in the day but still managed to feel like we got in a full day. It was $25.99 for a one person wrist band, which to me seemed a little steep- especially considering that's the cost for a 4 year old. But at least I wasn't forced to buy a wrist band for myself, and I could still comfortably watch him without having to get completely soaked.
They have a restaurant and arcade inside, but we just brought our own drinks and snacks. I would highly recommend bringing a hat because even if you're able to score a seat in the shade, the sun is inevitably going to move and when it does the shade moves with it.
Over all I would give it 3.75/4 out of 5
What We Liked
• The splash area is perfect for toddler to pre-schoolers, but the park is really meant for the big kids. The good news is if they're too young to go down the water slides, you have far less to be stressed out about because there isn't a pool. So the biggest safety issue will be keeping them from getting knocked down by a careless teenager, and from getting sunburned of course.
• They had enough water slides to keep my 4 year old busy for about 3 hours straight. It felt like every time I saw him he was on his way back up the stairs again to go down the same slide one more time.
• There were definitely enough slides to keep the big kids amused as well, and the lines appeared to be moving quickly.
• There were plenty of chairs and small tables for our stuff, but not all had ample shade.
What to Know Before You Go
• Shade: There was shade, but when the sun started to move the shade moved with it- so bring a hat.
• Bathrooms: Yes
• Food: You can bring your own snacks, and they have a restaurant with pizza and drinks inside.
• Best time to go: They open at 12pm and they're only open 5 hours; so if you can handle the sun, you'll get the most out of the wristband cost if you get there right at noon.
